PURPOSE:To perform an efficient data transfer in accordance with the receiving state of a receiving device, by using data of a control information part to give the handshake function between the transmission-side device and the receiving-side device in case that data of bit serial is transferred. CONSTITUTION:Equipments 1 and 2 having transmitting parts 1a and 2a and receiving parts 1b and 2b respectively are provided in the data communication system to constitute such system that the hand shake function is given between the transmitting part 1a or the transmitting part 2a and the receiving part 2b or the receiving part 1b of equipments 1 and 2 and data of bit serial can be transmitted and received between them. A parallel-serial converting means which converts loaded parallel data to serial data and outputs serial data is provided in transmitting parts 1a and 2a. A serial-parallel converting means which converts input serial data to parallel data and outputs parallel data is provided in receiving parts 1b and 2b, thus improving the data transfer efficiency in accordance with the receiving state of receiving parts.
