Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the working method so that scanning devices work under a safer condition, by controlling the output of the laser beam in such a way that the laser beam cannot light when the deflection scanning speed of the laser scanning device is lower than a prescribed speed. CONSTITUTION:When a scanner is started and the number of revolutions reaches a rated value, a scanner ready signal B becomes ''H'' by a detecting circuit DC. On the other hand, a video signal C is inputted from a sequence controller SC irrespective of the number of revolutions of the scanner. Both signals B and C are inputted into an AND circuit to be connected to a laser driver LDC. Therefore, even when the signal C is inputted into the main body of a printer before the number of revolutions of the scanner reaches the rated value, the laser beam is not turned on, because the input signal of the LDC is under off-condition until the number of revolutions reaches the rated value. In this way, even when a laser 1 is left under on-condition due to trouble of an interlock caused when an opening-closing cover is opened and the scanner rotates at a very low speed, the off-signal is sent to an LDC and the laser 1 is extinguished, because the signal B becomes off.
