Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable strengthening of the ground and to prevent circular slip of a structure, by a method wherein, in a method to construct a structure in a manner to place a sheetform object for foundation construction on a soft ground and place earth and sand thereon, the sheet is caused to maintain a given strength and length.
CONSTITUTION: A sheetform object 5 for foundation construction is placed on a soft ground 1, and a mound 2 and a structure 3 are constructed on the sheetform object 5 to fill up a space above one side of the sheetform object with earth and sand 4. The length of the sheetform object 5 is set so as to be at least longer than that of a spot (a spot of a safety factor 1) where a force, being exerted to creat a circular slip, is balanced with a force for checking the circular slip of the ground 1. Additionally, the sheetform object may be reinforced with a rigid beam and a linear object to provide strong tensile and shearing strengthes and a low elongation percentage to the sheetform object.
