Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the size of the upper liquid barrel of a vaporizer by exercising liquid level control over the vaporizer bya separately installed tank in a Rankine cycle using a low boiling point medium. CONSTITUTION:As a vaporizer 1 is heated by a heating source 13, its internal temperature and pressure both rise and the liquid level 12 of an upper liquid barrel 11 also rises. A liquid-level controller LC17 detects that to open a control valve 16, and a low boiling point medium in the upper liquid barrel 11 is discharged from a pipe 15 into a tank 14 by a water level, thus stabilizing the liquid level 12 in the upper liquid barrel 11. When the internal pressure of the vaporizer 1 rises sufficiently and the supply of vapor of prescribed pressure to a turbine 4 is held in readiness, a main vapor stopper valve 13 is opened to drive the turbine 4. Consequently, the liquid level 12 of the upper liquid barrel 11 falls gradually down to a prescribed liquid level, and then the LC17 detects that to open a control valve 21; and a pump 20 is driven to feed the low boiling point medium from the tank 14 to the vaporizer 1 gradually through a pipe 19.
