Abstract
PURPOSE: To make versatility wide and provide a device which can be stuck tightly to the inside wall of the work by constituting the device in such a way as to feed a sealing gas into a pair of bag-like sealing bodies stuck tightly to the inside wall surface of pipes to be welded and the spaces where the groove part of the pipes to be welded locates.
CONSTITUTION: Sealing bodies 11 are inserted together with gas ejecting nozzles 14 and pressure control valves 17 into pipes 23 to be welded, and a sealing gas is fed into the bodies 11 by operating a pressure regulating valve 19 and flow rate regulating valves 21. Thereby, the bodies 11 are stuck tightly to the inside wall of the pipes 23. When the pipes 23 are butted and the sealing gas in the bodies 11 are so set as to flow out to the nozzle 14 side by operating the valve 19, the gas blows out radially from gas diffusion ports 18, and fills in the spaces 25 where a groove part 24 locates, thereby assuming a weldable state. When the welding of the 2nd layer is completed, the gas in the bodies 11 is released into the atmosphere and the body 11 is removed.
