Abstract
PURPOSE: To relief the residual tensile stress of weld bonds, HAZ and base metals by performing buttering on the entire surface of groove surfaces to make the 1st layer, and laminating the 2nd and subsequent layers successively by performing buttering on the entire surface of the respective previous layers.
CONSTITUTION: The boundary of a base metal 1 in the part removed of a defect is coated fully by the 1st layer by performing buttering. Thence, the 2nd layer is similarly laminated on the 1st layer to cover the same and the 3rd, 4thW layers are repeatedly laminated in the same manner. If the 2nd, 3rdW layers are successively laminated on this, the compression acting area move gradually toward the center of weld metal and therefore the weld bonds and HAZ parts where the tensile stress + remains in the 1stW2nd layers are gradually relieved of stresses.
