Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent span fluctuation owing to temp. change by connecting a compensating capacitor having a prescribed temp. coefft. to an oscillator which oscillates at the frequencies corresponding to electrostatic capacitance for measuring displacements. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd gates G2A and G2B of an oscillator OS are connected to the variable capacitance C'1 and C'2 between a moving electrode and a pair of stationary electrodes and the fixed capacitance CSP1 and CSP2 of an electrode supporting part, by which the state of a free-running multiconsisting of an inverter G1, the gate G2A and the capacitance C1 and the state of a free-running multi consisting of the G1, G2B, C2 are alternately changed over. The C1, C2 are charged by a constant current circuit CC. The output of the oscillator OS is applied to a counter CT, and in every time when it counts (n) pieces, its output inverts and the output E0 proportional to the C1-C2 is outputted via a smoothing circuit H. Temps. are compensated by a compensating capacitor CCP having the prescribed temps. coefft. determined by the temp. coeffts. of the dielectric constants of sealing liquid and an insulator for supporting the electrodes, whereby the span fluctuation owing to temp. change is prevented.
