Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a drop of the reflux exhaust gas temperature and decrease aggravation of combustion by the exhaust gas reflux, by arranging an intake system and an exhaust system of an engine on the same side and connecting both systems to cylinder heads through a spacer forming an exhaust gas reflux passage.
CONSTITUTION: An intake manifold 8 and an exhaust manifold 9 of a diesel engine 7 are arranged on the same side and are connected to a cylinder head 7A of the engine 7 through a common spacer 10. Exhaust openings 11aW11d and intake passage openings 12aW12d are formed in the spacer 10, furthermore the exhaust passage openings 11b, 11c are connected to the intake passage openings 12aW12d through EGR passages 13, 13a so that the exhaust gas reflux may be generated in the spacer 10.
