Abstract

PURPOSE: To reflect heat rays in sunbeams and to remove cloud on a windowpane by coating the base glass with an electrically conductive film reflecting heat rays and by forming electrodes applying voltage to the film.
CONSTITUTION: The almost whole range of one side of the base glass 2 of each windowpane for a car is coated with an electrically conductive thin film 3 reflecting heat rays and made of titanium oxide or the like having a higher refractive index than the glass 2. Electrodes 4a, 4b are formed at both edges of the film 3 by thick film printing or other method, and they are connected to a power source 5 such as a battery mounted on the car and a power control circuit 6. This windowpane well transmits the visible region of sunbeams and reflects the infrared region to reduce the load of air cooling. When the windowpane is clouded, by supplying power to the film 3 from the battery 5, the glass 2 is heated to remove the cloud.
