Abstract
PURPOSE:To expand the control range of an ink drop diameter by supporting a vibration plate with the periphery larger in the diameter than a hole of a pressure chamber in an apparatus designed to jet ink with a vibration of a piezo-electric vibrator transmitted to a vibration plate by way of the pressure chamber. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus designed to jet ink 7 from an orifice 8 with the vibration of a vibration plate 5 provided at a hole 3 so arranged to be driven by a vibration of a piezo-electric vibrator 1 as amplified by means of a pressure chamber 2 filled with a vibration propagation medium 4, the vibration plate 5 is supported in a ring with a circumferential rim in such a manner as to be bonded with an adhesive 11 in a diameter larger than that of the hole 3 of the pressure chamber. The vibration plate 5 is larger in the vibration diameter as indicated by the broken line when vibrated on the side of an ink layer while smaller as indicated by the one-dot chain line when vibrated on the opposite side. In other words, this expands the range of enabling ink jetting without drawing of air from the orifice 8 resulting in a greater control range of the ink drop diameter.
