Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the nonvolatile type read-out and write-in elements with which the memory contents will not be disappeared by a method wherein a power source is built in an integrated circuit package and operation can be continued even when the external power source is disconnected. CONSTITUTION:The integrated circuit chip 3, which is used as a memory performing read-out and write-in works using a CMOS of low power consumption, is connected to a mercury battery 2 by a gold thread 4, and the above is sealed in the package 4 using molding resin. The terminal 5, to be used to connect the integrated circuit chip 3 to an exterior circuit, comes out from both sides of the package and connected with the gold thread 4. Accordingly, the operation of the device can be continued even when the external power source is discontinued and the nonvolatile read-out and write-in element, wherein no memory contents will by disappeared, c an be obtained even when the integrated circuit is removed from the circuit board in which said IC circuit is built in.
