Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable stable continuous operation, in electrolysis of a KF-HF type mixed molten salt using an amorphous carbon material as an anode, by using specific pulse current to completely prevent generation of anode polarization.
CONSTITUTION: As pulse current, one of which a peak value of pulse voltage is 15W80V, a pulse width is 1msecW1sec and a pulse amplitude is 1msecW10sec is used. Further, by intermittently applying current containing pulse introduced from other pulse generating power source to always passed smoothened electrolytic current for a predetermined time, anodic polarization being about to generate is controlled to enable continuous operation over a long period of time without interrupting electrolysis while stability of a system is held. Further, said predetermined time applying current containing pulse from other pulse power source is about 3secW 3min, pref., about 5W10sec. Moreover, a mole ratio of HF-KF is pref. about 1.8W 2.2
