Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate fluctuations of input and output power by fixing an input and an output terminal while protecting an optical fiber made of fluoride for infrared rays against mechanical external force applied to the fiber and moisture in the atmosphere, by applying tightly closed structure to the end parts. CONSTITUTION:At the end part of an optical fiber 1 having loose cladding 2, a holding tool 3 which holds a terminal core where the cladding tube of the optical fiber is removed at the terminal side of the optical fiver and the external circumference of the cladding tube at a cable side closer to the center part of the optical fiber and a cylindrical body 5 having a condenser lens or window material plate 6 at an open end while having tightly closed structure to the terminal core are provided, thereby transferring the input and output light beams of the optical fiber through the lens or window.
