Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure an automatic collection of hot water into a hot water tank in the water heater wherein the hot water tank is interconnected with a solar energy collector by means of a circulation pipe by providing a negative pressure operated valve to intake the external air into a hot water supply pipe when a water pump is not on working at a place free from freezing.
CONSTITUTION: The solar energy collector 2 is located at a position higher than the hot water tank 1, for example, on a roof of a building and the wate supply pipe 3 led out of the lower part of the tank 1 is connected to the lower edge of the collector 2. On the other hand, the hot water supply pipe 4 is led out of the upper edge of the collector 2, which is connected to the upper part of the tank 1. In this instance, at a place in the vicinity of the hot water tank 1 free from dust and freezing, for example, inside the bulding or under eaves, there is provided the negative pressure operated valve 6 in communication with the hot water supply pipe 4 at a position higher than the water level L inside the tank 1. This negative pressure operated valve 6 is adapted to open its valve member due to the external pressure when the water pump 5 is not on working so as to introduce air into the hot water supply pipe 4. This enables the automatic collection of the water or hot water into the tank 1.
