Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve ignitability, perform a stable combustion and improve fuel consumption, by providing a masking piece enclosing a primary side intake valve and a masking piece enclosing a spark plung and forming a sub-combustion chamber in the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
CONSTITUTION: The first masking piece 13 enclosing the downstream of a primary side intake valve 8 and the second masking piece 14 enclosing the peripheral point end part of a spark plug 11 are provided in a combustion chamber 4 to form sub- combustion chambers 15, 16, further the both chambers are communicated by a bypass line 17. Consequently, a mixture is surely ignited by the spark plug 11, and its flame is jetted from a jet port 19 to the combustion chamber 4. The flame is partially jetted from the bypass line 17 to the sub-combustion chamber 15, jet port 18 and the combustion chamber 4. In this way, stable combustion can be performed.
