Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a control of a motor immediately on the occurrence of a jamming or twisting of an ink ribbon around a type drum and the like, by providing a control circuit having a thyristor on a DC motor for feeding the ink ribbon.
CONSTITUTION: When an ink ribbon 2 is pressed onto a type drum 3 owing to breaking of a recording paper 4 and the ribbon is drawn into the drum at a high speed, an induced voltage is generated in a drum driving DC motor 6a and the voltage is impressed on a control circuit 7. Therefore a zener diode 11 is made conductive and a voltage is impressed on a gate terminal of a thyristor and thus the thyristor 8 is made conductive. Then, because the induced voltage generated by the DC motor 6a and applied to both the ends of the thyristor 8 functions in the opposite direction, the rotation of a ribbon shaft 1a revolved or driven through the ink ribbon 2 which is rolled around and extended by the type drum is controlled.
