Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a cathode with high durability and high electrode catalytic activity by applying a mixed liq. dispersion consisting of powder for sintering and silicate hydrate or an Al compound to the surface of a metallic electrode substrate, sintering the dispersion, and treating the sintered layer with an alkali or acid soln.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed liq. dispersion consisting of powder for sintering and silicate hydrate and/or an Al compound is stuck or applied to the surface of an electrode substrate of Fe, Ni, Cr, Cu, Ti or an alloy thereof. The powder for sintering is Raney alloy powder or a mixture of Raney alloy powder with powder of ≥1 kinds of substance selected from metal, metallic salt, metallic oxide, carbon, chloride and carbide. The amount of the silicate hydrate and/or the Al compound added is 0.001W50wt% to the amount of the powder for sintering. The dispersion is sintered by heating, and the sintered layer is treated with an alkali or acid soln.
