Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain titled compound advantageously under specific conditions in purifying a feedstock oil containing a 6W8C aromatic hydrocarbon essentially with specified catalysts in two stages, by circulating hydrogen containing hydrogen sulfide formed in the second hydrogenating step through the first hydrogenating step.
CONSTITUTION: A feedstock oil consisting of a 6W8C hydrocarbon essentially is catalytically hydrogenated at a relatively low temperature in the presence of a Pd catalyst (the first hydrogenating step), and then catalytically hydrocarbonated in the presence of a catalyst selected from elements of Group VIB, e.g. Cr, Mo or W, and iron family elements, e.g. Fe, Co or Ni, in the periodic table at a relatively low temperature (the second hydrogenating step) and purified. In the steps, hydrogen gas containing H2S separated from the reaction product is circulated through the first hydrogenating step, and the inlet temperature of the first hydrogenating catalytic layer T(°C) is controlled at 50W200°C and in the range satisfying the formula according to the H2S concentration X(volume ppm) in the total hydrogen and the feedstock oil feed rate m (volume based on the catalyst volume per hr) to improve the product yield and basic unit and reduce the energy consumption.
