Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an O3 decomposition filter having low gas permeability resistance capable of keeping an excellent O3 decomposition performance for a long time, by supporting an activated carbon carrying Mn oxide and Cu oxide on the surface of a porous structure body.
CONSTITUTION: After the solution dissolved Mn salt and Cu salt is added to powdery activated carbon to be agitated, alkali solution is added to neutralize it; and then it is dried and sintered to obtain O3 decomposition catalyst consisting of powdery activated carbon carrying menganese oxide and cupric oxide composite. This powdery catalyst 3 is stuck on the surface of a honeycomb-type ceramic structure body 2 having through-holes 2a with using binder. The O3 decomposition filter obtained by said method is used together with an exhaust fan at the discharging part of waste gas from a copying machine which is O3 generation source.
