Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect such a phenomenon that a water head in two filter tanks is simultaneously raised to the max. tolerance water head in an early stage by providing a detector for detecting the max. tolerance water head and a detector for detecting lower set water head than said max. water level in each filter tanks of an apparatus constituted by connecting a series of filter tanks in parallel.
CONSTITUTION: Raw water is distributed to supply pipes 2AW2E from a main pipe 2 and subjected to filtering treatment by filter materials 1AW1E in filter tanks AWE and, thereafter, taken out to the outside through a take-out main pipe 5. In an inner side of the filter tanks AWB, a liquid level detectors 11AW11E for detecting the max. tolernace water head and a liquid level detectors 12AW12E for detecting the lower set water level are provided. At first, in a case wherein a lost water level only in the tank D is high, when a liquid level is reached to the detector 11D, valves 3D, 4D are closed and valves 8D, 10B are opened and a pump 6 is driven to carry out backwashing. Next, in a case wherein both levels of the tanks D and A are high, when a liquid level is reached to a lower head detector 12C in the succeeding tank C, backwashing of the tank D is started.
