Abstract

PURPOSE: The compound, which is produced, when St. oganonensis is cultured in the presence of magnesium carbonate, is treated with a D-aminoacid oxidase to produce 7β-( 4-carboxybutyramide )-3-( 1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl )thiomethyl-7α- methoxy-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: Streptomyces oganonensis is cultured in a medium containing magnesium carbonate to form 7β-(5-amino-5-carboxyvaleramide)-3-hydroxymethyl-7α- methyoxy-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid and cell bodies having activity of D-aminoacid oxidase or its treatment product is made to act on the compound. Further, diketene, then 1-methyl-5-mercaptotetrazole are made to act on the product to produce 7β- ( 4-carboxylbutyramide )-3-( 1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl )thiomethyl-7α-methoxy-3- cepthem-4-carboxylic acid.
