Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect abnormality of the heat exchanger in a power plant or the like early and positively by measuring the temperatures, pressures and flow quantities at the inlet and outlet of a heating fluid and a fluid to be heated, and comparing the calculated heat loss with a predetermined value, in the diagnosis of the heat exchanger in a power plant or the like.
CONSTITUTION: By applying the second rule os the thermodynamics, abmormality is detected from the distribution state of heat loss of each part of the heat exchanger. That is, the temperatures, pressured and flow quantities at the inlet and outlt of a heating fluid and a fluid to be heated, are measured respectively. From these measured values, enthalpies at the inlets and outlets of the heating fluid and the fluid to be heated are calculated, and actual heat loss accompanied by heat exchange from the heating fluid to the fluid to be heated is obtained. The thus obtained heat loss is compared with the value of heat loss in a case where the heat exchange is normal. When the difference obtained is equal to or more than a predetermined value, an alarm is emitted and abnormality is noticed in advance.
