Abstract

PURPOSE: To print a desired mark on the outside surface of an electronic part or the like through engraving, by a method wherein a masking material is adhered to the outside surface of an article to form a mask, then the desired mark is engraved in the mask and the article by a laser engraving means, and after applying a printing ink to fill the engraved part, the mask is peeled off.
CONSTITUTION: After adhering the masking material (e.g., a film, a sheet, etc.) 11a onto the outside surface of the article 1 such as an electronic part to form the mask 11, the desired mark 2 is engraved in the mask 11 and the article 1 by the laser engraving means. Then, the printing ink 3 is coated on the mask 11 to fill the engraved part 1a of the article 1, and the mask 11 is peeled off to print the mark 2 on the surface of the article 1 through engraving. The article 1 is slidden downward through a chute 12 to place it on a conveyor 14, the masking material 11a is drawn out from a masking material delivering device 16 to form a mask 11, the mark is engraved by the laser engraving machine 18, then the ink 3 is coated by an ink coater 19 and the mask is peeled off by a masking material winder 21.
