Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve reliability on test results in a round current water tank, by a method wherein a second fluid is caused to flow along a surface of a fluid to be accelerated, and a portion in the proximity of the surface of the fluid to be accelerated is accelerated through the use of a friction force between the two fluids. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical case 4, which has an opening 3 to a surface 1 of a fluid 2 to be accelerated and whose opposite ends are closed off, is securely placed in a condition that a surface 5 having the opening 3 is firmly adhered to the fluid surface. Through the rotation of a column 6 placed in the cylinder case 4, a second fluid 9 for acceleration use forms a circulation current flowing at the inside of a toroidal action. The portion in the proximity of the surface of the fluid 2 is accelerated like a velocity distribution as shown in a part (a) through the exertion of a friction force produced between the circulation current and the fluid 2 to be accelerated, and a flow direction is slightly corrected on the fluid surface 1 by means of rectifying plates 10 aligned at the downstream side of the case 4. Finally, the fluid 2 is accelerated in a very regular velocity distribution condition as shown in a part b.
