Abstract

The data stored in the memory 2 are successively read out from the memory areas 0-7 divided by gradations from the region 0 up to 7 in an one line gradation memory 4 and a stylus head 7 is driven by a driving circuit 6, whereby electrostatic latent images are formed on recording paper 12. The recording paper 12 receives subscanning feed every time when the memory area changes and since the feed width thereof is made into fine width in such a way that, for example, the latent image of the 0 order gradation and the latent image of the 1st gradation mostly superpose, the gradations are expressed by the superposing times of the latent images.
