Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce clamping force to an optical fiber and to increase contact between a tensile-strength line and a covering material, by using a solid type nipple for a tensile-strength line side and a pull-down type nipple for an optical fiber side. CONSTITUTION:For an optical fiber side, a nipple 7 having a nipple tip in the same surface with a die 8 surface, i.e. of a pull-down type is used and for a tensile- strength line side, a nipple 7 having a nipple tip moved back from the die 8 surface, i.e. of a solid type is used. Consequently, clamping force to the optical fiber of a covering material is minimized and contact between a tensile-strength line side and the covering material is increased.
