The resultant (NH4)2TiF5, (NH4)3TiF6 transferred to an aqueous phase is separated from the aqueous phase in a separating process D and introduced into a heat decomposition process E. Herein, when a reductive atmosphere such as H2 or a mixed gas of H2 and NH3 is introduced and heating is carried out, (NH4)2TiF5, (NH4)2TiF6 are decomposed to form Ti. The resultant Ti is recovered by an apparatus F.
