CONSTITUTION: The objective prophylactic contains, as an active ingredient, a sulfated polysaccharide, DF-4639, known as antithrombotic agent, or its salt. It is effective against bacterial infections caused by Pseudomanas areuginasa, Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coil, further deep mycosis caused by Candida. DF- 4639 is separated from the culture mixture of, e.g., Micrococcus AT-25 (FERM- 5255). It is made into injection solution, sappository or oral preparation and the dose is sufficiently 0.1W100mg/kg a day.
