Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent slippage between a plurality of bridle rollers and stabilize the operation of a continuous surface processing line for paper or the like, by compensating and controlling the difference between the input and output tension on the bridle rollers depending on the ratio of share of load on drivers.
CONSTITUTION: The change in tension due to processing rolls 1, 2 is found out as the input tension on a bridle roller by a detector 21. The difference between the detected tension change and the set value of a pressure setting unit 33 for a dancer roll 3 is determined by a comparator 35. A reference for the electrical current of the bridle roll is altered depending on the difference. After the displacement of the dancer roll 3 is compared with a speed reference for a line and the electrical current of a master roll A or the like, the speed of the master roll is regulated through a speed controller 8, a current controller 9 and a phase controller 10.
