Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer sheet with high fixability, high pencil erasability, no stickiness and superior in conveyance by applying thermoplastic acrylic resin obtd. by copolymn. in the presence of fumaric acid and having a specified mol. wt. range and a specified second order transition point to the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:In a solvent such as a toluene-isopropyl alcohol mixture 1mol acrylic acid, 30-40mol acrylic ester and about 0.3-0.5mol fumaric acid or about 0.5-1mol maleic acid are copolymerized so as to provide 18,000-100,000mol.wt. and 10-80 deg.C second order transition point. This copolymer soln. is diluted to prepare a coating soln. having about 10% copolymer concn., and the soln. is applied to base paper or a plastic film and dried to manufacture a transfer sheet. To the coating solh. may be added a matting agent such as silica or clay. The sheet having superior fixability, image correctability, feedability, etc. is provided.
