Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the outputting of the correct photometric output which gives correct exposure possible by selectively outputting the correct output out of the plural photometric outputs according to the maximum luminance by multiphotometry. CONSTITUTION:The photometric outputs of each of plural areas of an object from a photometric circuit 10 are processed in a luminance operating circuit 11, and maximum, average and minimum luminances are outputted from maximum value, average value and minimum value circuits 12-14. The maximum luminance output from this circuit 12 is appllied to comparators 51-53 of which the respective set reference values are successively smaller and which generate high level outputs when applied with the inputs above these set reference values. Gates 54-56 are controlled by the circuits 51-53 and the output of the circuit 14 is selected when the maximum luminance is large owing to the sun or the like, that of the circuit 13 for general outdoor ascenes in the daytime and that of the circuit 12 in a night scene. As a result, the correct photometric output giving correct exposure is outputted selectively each time.
