Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent disconnection and the degradation of transmission characteristics by fixing the joined part which is stuck by thermal fusion of two pieces of optical fibers to be connected to a connected part holding member by means of a uniform and strain-free adhesive agent of silicone type resin. CONSTITUTION:Cores FC, FC' of optical fibers F, F' exposed by removing their clads are stuck by thermal fusion, whereby a connected part 2 is obtained. Thence, the part 2 is fixed to a holding member 3 by using a uniform silicone type resin adhesive agent 5 of less strains from said part up to the clad parts Fa, Fa'. Next, a cap 4 is put on the part applied with the adhesive agent 5 to protect the connected part. When the adhesive agent 5 has set (after 10-20min), the clad parts Fa, Fa' are futther fixed to the member 3 by using an adhesive agent 6 of cyanoacrylate type or epoxy type resin setting in about a few minutes. In this way, the connected part 2 prevented of the disconnection of the part 2 and the degradation if its transmission characteristics is obtained.
