PURPOSE:To obtain copies of superior gradation characteristic free from photographing fogs by providing an alternate biasing means in such a way that the bias potential at the printing for obtaining plural sheets of copies from a master is made higher in absolute potential than that at the time of making the master and is applied to a developing roller. CONSTITUTION:At the time of making a printing master, a bias electric power source E2 is applied to the developing roll of a developing device 5 by a biasing means 17 and the electrostatic latent images formed on the photosensitive paper 10 held on the drum 1 are developed. At the printing, the biasing electric power source E1 of said means 17 is applied on the developing roll, and developing is carried out. By using such different voltages, the potential of the electrostatic images obtained by charging and image exposing on the photosensitive paper and the potential of the electrostatic latent images obtained by charging and uniform exposure of the master plate are compensated, and the prints of superior gradation characteristic and less photographic fogs are obtained.
