PURPOSE: To modulate diffraction characteristics of a bilevel phase grating type focal plane according to the relative arrangement relation of circular or annular zones, by forming circles forming mountains or valleys or annular zones having concentric mountains and valleys alternately in every fine unit pattern without overlapping them.
CONSTITUTION: In the center of a square unit pattern, one circular mountain (2a) is formed, and four circular mountains (2b) on the diagonal lines and four mountains (2c)between the mountains (2b) are further formed while the remaining part is left as a valley.
