Abstract
PURPOSE: To absorb pressure fluctuation produced by the revolution of a propeller so as to damp the vibrations of a hull, by forming an opening in a hull outer plate of the stern above the propeller, and attaching a vibration plate to the opening.
CONSTITUTION: The vibration plate 12 is formed in the manner as part of the hull outer plate 11 at the stern is removed, and to the opening formed in the hull outer plate is pivotally mounted the vibration plate 12 by a fulcrum point 13. The hull outer plate 11 and the periphery of the vibration plate 12 are connected by bellows 14 so that the swinging motions of the vibration plate 12 about the flucrum point 13 are allowed, and intrusion of the sea water into the hull is prevented. Further, to the vibration plate 12 is attached a vibration adjusting mechanism 16 that makes the vibration frequency of the vibration plate 12 conform to the blade vibration frequency of the propeller 15.
