Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the number of manufacturing steps of a rotor which is made of an inner and an outer walls and a bottom portion from an annular blank by cold forging, by providing arc-shaped recesses on the inside of the bottom portion and then cutting the bottom portion to open arc-shaped holes through it.
CONSTITUTION: When a rotor 1 comprising an inner and an outer walls 3, 4, a bottom portion 5 and an annular groove is to be made from an annular blank 18 by cold forging, arc-shaped recesses 17'A, 17'B are provided on the inside of the bottom portion 5 and this portion is then cut to eliminate the bottoms (a) of the recesses 17'A, 17'B to open magnetic-circuit-disconnecting arc-shaped holes 17A, 17B through the bottom portion 5. The blank 18 is shaped to a rough rotor body A by cold forging with a die 19 etc. The bottom and annular groove end of the rough rotor body A are cut to provide a rotor body 1A. Since punching work is not needed, maintenance cost is reduced.
