Abstract

PURPOSE:To print on both a zigzag folded paper and a roll paper by a method wherein a zigzag folded paper and a roll paper are driven and printed by a common driving device and a common printing device, and the zigzag folded paper is guided by a guide device co-operating with the driving device, in a heat-sensitive printing device. CONSTITUTION:When the zigzag folded paper is used, a zigzag fold paper 1 for supply is fed by the friction between a driving roller 7 and a driven roller as indicated by the solid-line arrow, is printed by a heat-sensitive printing head 5 and is fed out as a zigzag fold paper 9 for discharge. In this case, the paper is prevented from meandering by a sprocket wheel 81. When the roll paper is used, it is fed and printed in the same way as the zigzag folded paper, then it is cut appropriately by a cutter 10 and is fed out by discharge rollers 11. In this case, the meandering of the roll paper is restricted by flanges 41 of a reel 4. Accordingly, the printing device can satisfy the respective requirements for the different paper forms of the roll paper and the zigzag folded paper while using a simple construction.
