Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the constant rate feed of raw laver having high viscosity, by using a hollo pipe as the axis of the horizontal-type screw feeder, and exudating water through small holes bored to the axis or blades of the screw.
CONSTITUTION: Washed and cut laver raw material is stored in the tank 1, transferred with the screw feeder 5 to the raw material tank 28, in which it is mixed with water stored in the water tank 25, and sent to the laver-sheet making machine. The screw feeder 5 is placed in the guide trough 2 with meshes, and the laver is fed to the screw feeder with the scraping plates 16. The axis 5a of the feeder 5 is made hollow. Water is introduced into the hollow part through the joint 8, and exudated through the small holes 11 bored to the axis 5a and the blades 5b to ensure the smooth feed of the laver.
