Abstract
PURPOSE: To save energy and prepare green tea of good quality, by circulating hot air through a rolling chamber of a rough rolling machine usually, changing the hot air with fresh hot air at times to control the temperature and humidity of the atmosphere in the rolling chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Green tea leaves are treated by the rotation of rolling arms 9 and scraping arms 10 while supplying hot air from a hot air generator 2 through blowing inlets 13 into a rough rolling machine 1. A change-over damper 19 is provided in an air expelling outlet 21 to circulate an exhaust air through the hot air generator 2. The temperature and humidity of the atmosphere in a rolling chamber 16 are sensed by a temperature sensor 7 for the green tea leaves and a humidity sensor 17 for the exhaust air, and damper plates 31 and 25 are opened and closed to give suitable values of the temperature and humidity and control the circulation flow rate of hot air that the suitable temperature and humidity may be obtained according to the process. The control can be carried out by using a microcomputer.
