Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize output voltage of a switching regulator, by connecting a semiconductor element by means of short-circuit to both ends of an inductance coil, and controlling this semiconductor element. CONSTITUTION:When a switch S is closed, a DC current i1 flows into a short- circuit, the impedance in the current direction of the current i1 is greatly reduced, and an AC output current i0 flows. Accordingly, as for the current i1 flowing into a closed circuit, basically voltage induced in the inductance L1 by the AC output current i0 flowing in the inductance L1 becomes E=L1.di0/dt, threfore the current i1 becomes E/R1, and when i1+i0 are increased, a magnetic core of the inductance L1 is saturated, therefore, even if a resistance R1 is made to zero, a large current does not flow, and high voltage is not induced to the winding as well. An AC portion obtained in this way is rectified by a diode D2, is smoothed by a capacitor C1, and becomes a DC output Eout.
