Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the measurement to torque possible while a balance device is held in pause by providing a tensile compression type load converter between a fitting fixed to the oscillating part of a dynamometer and a torque arm mounted freely rotatably to the oscillating part. CONSTITUTION:An L type support fitting 21 is secured to the oscillating part 1 of a dynamometer. A torque arm 22 is mounted freely rotatably by means of a hinge part 23 to the part 1, and the leading end thereof is connected to the load lever 6 of a balance device 20. A tensile compression type load converter 24 is mounted by way of the connecting pins 25, 26 provided to the intermediate part of the torque arm 22 and the fitting 21. The converter 24 consists of a load cell, and outputs electric signals corresponding to loads which are tensile load when the torque is in the direction A and compressive load when it is in the direction B. Thereby, torque is measured highly accurately without the influence of the torsional moment generated in the torque arm 22 while the balance device is held in pause.
