Abstract

PURPOSE: To appropriately control injection, by making a fuel injector of a high pressure supply source, a fuel compression means with an injection nozzle and various solenoid valves and by opening or closing the solenoid valves depending on running conditions.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure of fuel in a tank 16' is heightened by a feed pump 18 which acts as a feed pressure source 14 for supplying the fuel under high pressure. The fuel is then set to prescribed pressure by a control valve 80 connected to a collection pipe 70 and an overflow passage 81 and is thereafter conducted to the fuel compression means 26 of an injector 1. The fuel introduced into a fuel chamber 12 is compressed again by the plunger 7 of the means 26 and injected through a nozzle 8. High pressure introduced from the pressure source 14 into a spool valve 25 made of a spool 3 is applied to a piston 6 on the top of the plunger 7. The application of the high pressure is controlled by solenoid valves 9, 10, 11 which are regulated by a controller 23 which receives various running signals S1WS5.
