Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and cost of a device by providing heads, capstans, pinch rollers for an endless magnetic recording tape and an uneven recording tape individually and by using a capstan motor and a moving device for the heads in common. CONSTITUTION:Capstans 18 and 28 and pinch rollers 19 and 29 of an endless magnetic recording tape cassette 10 and an uneven recording tape cassette 20 are driven by a common capstant motor 30. A head feeding mechanism 40 which moves heads 16 and 26 in the width directions of the tapes 11 and 21, and a head moving base 41 are shared for common use. The tapes 11 and 21 are led out of the insides of reels 12 and 22 by way of communication parts 13 and 23 and guided by guides 14 and 15, and guides 24 and 25 to be taken out around the reels 12 and 22 while sliding on the heads 16 and 26. Consequently, a single small-sized low- priced device performs the recording and reproduction of the magnetic recording tape 11 and the reproduction of the uneven recording tape simultaneously or independently with regard to optioncal tracks.
