Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate production of an infinitely variable speed change gear of the type employing a cone and to attain a stabilized speed changing performance of the speed change gear by disposing a support shaft of the cone perpendicularly to an axis of a driven shaft and in a closely contacted relationship relative to a driving disk and a driven disk.

CONSTITUTION: When a driven shaft 1 is rotated, a driving disk 3 is rotated integrally with the shaft 1 to thus rotate a cone 6 which is supported on a support shaft 5 for rotation and axial displacement and has a driving conical surface 8 closely contacted by a driving ring 13 secured to the driving disk 3. Rotation of the cone 6 is transmitted to a driven disk 4 through a driven ring 14 closely contacted with a driven conical surface 9 of the cone 6 and then to a driven shaft 2 through balls 20 and a pressure regulating plate 1. If the ratio of rotational frequency between both shafts 1, 2 is to be changed, a support member 15 is operated to move the support shaft 5 rightwardly or leftwardly through a movable member 7 to change relative contact positions of the rings 13, 14 with the conical surfaces 8, 9 of the cone 6.
