Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled elastomer readily and with high reproducibility, by melt mixing a polyether-ester elastomer having a low melt viscosity with a diepoxy compound and a metallic salt of a specific carboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A block copolymeric poly(ether-ester) elastomer obtained from a dicarboxylic acid (ester-forming derivative) consisting of terephthalic acid essentially, a low-molecular weight glycol and a polyalkylene glycol having a molecular weight of 600W4,000 is melt mixed with (B) 10W70 millimoles based on one kg component (A) and (C) 2.0W20 millimoles metallic salt selected from Group Ia in the periodic table of elements of a ≥10C mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid, e.g. potassium laurate, as a reaction catalyst for the components (A) and (B). The component (A) preferably has 30% or more carboxylic acid groups based on the total terminal groups.
