Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyoxyalkylene glycol or a modified polyester including the same is melt stored under specific conditions and added to a PET polyester to impart antistatic properties without any adverse effect on moldability.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as the major recurring units, is added as a modifier, (B) (a) a polyalkylene glycol of higher than 1,000mol.wt. or (b) a modified polyester obtained by adding more than 30wt% of component a to a polyester, preferably the same one as component A, preferably of more than 0.8 reduced viscosity, wherein component a is melt stored at a temperature of the melting point W 250°C, component b is at the melting point W 80°C higher than the polycondensation temperature in a vessel and the inside of the vessel is filled with an inert gas. Further, the gas is replaced once or more per 20min and twice or less per 1min and then, component B is added and the composition is melt formed.
