CONSTITUTION:The organic acid to be used has a fluorocarbon group represented by the formula in which Rf is a fluorocarbon group obtained by substituting F for H of an alkyl, alkenyl, or aryl group; Ar is alkyl or aryl; X is carboxy, sulfo, or hydroxy; n is 0-9; and m, w are 1-3. Carbon black is surface treated with the solution of said acid to give water repellency, the treated carbon obtained is kneaded with a binder resin, such as methyl methacrylate resin, pulverized, and classified to prepare a desired dry type electrophotographic toner.
