CONSTITUTION: An inoculant for cast iron consisting of ≥2 kinds of alloys of different m. ps., of which ≥1 kinds are alloys in the composition region intermetallic compounds. With an Fe-Si alloy system, Fe-(30W35)wt% Si, Fe-(50W55)wt% Si, Fe-(70W75)wt% Si of different m. ps. are compounded respectively 20W50%. An intermetallic compound exits at 34 and 50wt% Si. With a Ca-Si type alloy, Ca-(23W28)wt% Si, Ca-(40W50)wt% Si, Ca-(55W60)wt% Si are compounded respectively 20W50%. An intermetallic compound exists at 25, 43 and 57wt% Si. Further, in some cases, ≥1 kinds of 0.1W5% Al, Ba, Sr, C are added as the 3rd element group, and are contained at ≤15% in total.
