Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to prevent the excessive oscillation of a piezoelectric ceramic due to resonance, by providing a negative feedback circuit adding a counter electromotive force produced through a mechanical displacement of a piezoelectric element to a drive signal after converting it into a damping voltage, and a drive circuit. CONSTITUTION:A drive signal of a drive source 7 is amplified at a DC amplifier 9 via, e.g., an adder 8, and it is applied to a piezoelectric ceramic 2 via a series resistor 10. The piezoelectric ceramic 2 driven with an electric signal produces a counter electromotiveforce between a point (a) and the piezoelectric ceramic 2, and the frequency is at maximum at the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric ceramic. The potential difference across the resistor 10 is inputted to a differential amplifier 11 to output the said counter electromotiveforce only in the inverse phase by exclusing the drive signal, and this output is fed back to an adder 8 via a high pass filter 12, phase adjuster 13 and variable resistor 14. Thus, the excessive oscillation due to resonance phenomenon of the piezoelectric ceramic can be prevented and the damage of the piezoelectric element can be avoided.
