Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the lens having excellent optical performance while ignoring the dispersion of the volume of a lens blank by measuring the hoop stress of a mold generated in a molding process and adjusting and controlling the ram pressure of a heating compressing molding machine according to the measuring value. CONSTITUTION:The mold 2 is heated by a heat medium supplied to a temperature adjusting flow path 10 and reaches a predetermined temperature in a mold heating process through known technique. The lens blank 1 is charged into the mold 2 at a point of the time and shifts to a lens blank heating process, and a fluid layer is formed on the surface. The blank shifts to a compression process and further a cooling process. It is preferable that the heat medium for heating or cooling in said each process is supplied and controlled by means of a controller 22 on the basis of conditions respectively set to a reference mold temperature setter 16 and a reference hoop stress setter 19.
